Parents and children learn together through songs, stories, movement, nature exploration, games, and hands-on discoveries.
Ages: 2 to 6 years old
Day and Time: Saturdays · 2:00–3:00 PM
Location: Pomme de Pin Preschool & public park nearby, in Renton - The exact location will be shared upon registration
All French level welcome
HOW IT WORKS
One theme. Five weeks. A different discovery every time.
Each module explores a broad seasonal or everyday-life theme over five weeks.
Each week brings something new — new vocabulary, stories, songs, games, experiments, creative activities, and experiences — while familiar French naturally comes back in different contexts.
This gentle repetition helps children move from simply hearing French to recognizing it, understanding it, and beginning to use it with confidence.

Experience French in action.
The final Family Class of each module is a special hands-on or real-life experience designed to bring together the French explored throughout the previous weeks.
Depending on the theme, families might:

cook and share a recipe together

explore a farmers market

visit a library or museum

discover a garden or nature trail

create something together
-
take part in playful French family missions
Through guided exploration and simple language challenges, children and parents have an opportunity to use French together in a meaningful, memorable way.
FRENCH BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Families receive simple resources that make it easier to keep French present naturally between sessions.
You'll receive:

useful vocabulary and simple phrases from class

songs explored together

simple ideas for continuing the discovery at home

seasonal activities and inspiration
At the end of each module, children also receive a collectible themed badge celebrating their learning journey.

🍎 Module 1 — Les saveurs de l'automne!
Fall Fruits, Harvest & Cooking
We'll explore fall fruits through taste, touch, observation, nature, stories, vocabulary, seeds, trees, harvest, and cooking.
Each Saturday will bring a different discovery as children explore questions such as:
Which fruits do we harvest in fall?
How can we describe a fruit?
How can we say whether we like it or not?
What is inside a fruit?
How does a seed become a tree?
How can we make applesauce?
🎒 Partons à l'aventure!
For our final experience, families will bring everything together by preparing and sharing our own compote de pommes.

🌙 Module 2 — Bonne nuit!
Stories, Bedtime & Family Routines
We'll explore the language of home and bedtime through stories, imagination, familiar routines, and playful discoveries.
Children will discover French connected to:

the bedroom and familiar objects

pajamas and getting ready for bed

brushing teeth and evening routines
-
books and bedtime stories
-
story characters and imagination
-
feelings, dreams, and nighttime
Parents will explore practical language they can use every evening at home.

We'll bring our story theme into a special library or bookstore experience, with playful French missions connected to books, characters, stories, and family reading.

No prior French experience is required for children or parents.
TOO Far from renton?
Gather 4 or more families, and French Family Class can come to your neighborhood for a 5-session module — at a local park or another suitable outdoor space.
Weekday afternoon sessions may be available in Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, and surrounding areas.

Parents who would like to become more comfortable using French at home can also join Everyday French for Parents, our live online Thursday evening class.
A relaxed, practical class for parents who want to feel more comfortable speaking French with their child during meals, bedtime, getting dressed, car rides, outdoor adventures, and all the little moments in between.
Your child may experience French for one hour each week.
The Parent sessions help French become part of the other 167 hours.
